TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Last week it was reported that Xiaomi will hold a launch event on December 12 in China to announce the flagship phone Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12X. New information reveals that the Chinese manufacturer will announce the Xiaomi 12X lineup at the end of December.
Last year Xiaomi announced the Xiaomi Mi 11 5G in December to be the first brand to launch a Snapdragon 888 SoC powered phone. A reliable leaker claims that this year Xiaomi will not reveal the first Snapdragon 8 Gen1 flagship phone, as reported by Gizmochina, 28 November 2021.
Screenshots of Xiaomi China’s internal documents have also appeared on Weibo. The document indicates that the company will hold a press conference on December 28 to announce the new product. It shows that Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12X which is rumored to be going official on December 28th.
Even leaker Digital Chat Station has claimed that a Xiaomi product launch conference is scheduled for the end of next month. He added that it is possible that Xiaomi might not be the first brand to launch a Snapdragon 8 Gen1 powered phone. This suggests that the Moto Edge X featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 might launch before the Xiaomi 12 lineup.
Various reports have revealed that the Xiaomi 12X will be driven by the Snapdragon 870 mobile platform, while the Xiaomi 12 will be equipped with Qualcomm’s new flagship SoC. Both models are expected to arrive with curved edge AMOLED displays offering Full HD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. The Xiaomi 12X is expected to have a 6.28-inch display.
The Xiaomi 12X may have a 20-megapixel selfie camera. Both models will likely have a 50-megapixel main camera on the back. The 12X can house a 5,000mAh battery with 67W fast charging and 33W fast charging. On the other hand, the Xiaomi 12 could bring support for 100W fast charging.
