The list of accessories for the iPhone 12 is getting shorter if you believe the statements of the well-informed Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Accordingly, the new smartphone should not include headphones or a charger. According to Kuo, Apple wants to adjust the price to that of the iPhone 11, even though the iPhone 12 comes with 5G.
The new 20W fast charger is intended to replace the currently sold 5W and 18W chargers, such as 9to5 Mac reports. With the new iPad and iPad mini, which should be on the market in spring 2021, the adapter should still be included.
Additional costs
The fact that neither headphones nor charger are included is likely to lead to some complaints. Many users already have some USB-C chargers and headphones, but 20W quick chargers are less common and they must also have a Lightning connector.
Apple demands for its 18W-Adapter currently 35 euros, the EarPods cost 29 euros. If you want to use all the accessories, you will have to pay an additional minimum of 64 euros – depending on the pricing of the new charger.
