New functions for the FritzBox: Fresh laboratory update available for two AVM devices

AVM has managed to update most FritzBoxes with the 7.12 update. The manufacturer is now taking the next steps and is also carrying out the first upgrades to versions 7.13 and 7.14 for the Fritz boxes.

On the part of the FritzOS 7.13 three more boxes have recently been given the update. This is the FritzBox 6890 LTE and the FritzBox 6820 LTE (including V2). This contingent now also includes FritzBox 6591 Cable on. The first boxes to get the 7.14 patch are those FritzBox variants 7520 and 7530. To the initial FritzOS candidates who were provided with 7.14, has meanwhile also FritzBox 4040 joins. In the coming days and weeks, the update should also be available for other devices.

The Update to FritzOS 7.14 does not bring any great changes with yourself. In contrast to version 7.10 here only minor improvements like bug fixes and stability improvements.-

If you want to experiment with your FritzBox, you can also find a new one Laboratory update looking forward. More specifically, they are FritzBox models 6590 Cable and 6490 Cable supplied with the second test patch. Among other things, this offers an option to use WPA3 and to establish encrypted access to guest connections. In addition, the Fritz boxes 7490 and 7590 a new version of the laboratory update. Now stands for the 7490 Version 07.19-76429 ready while the 7590 with the Version 07.19-76430 is supplied. The features mentioned above are now ready for testing.

Before the update, however, a backup of the current version should be created.
