New confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Mayotte

The Prefect of Mayotte and the Director General of the Mayotte Regional Health Agency confirm 2 new cases of COVID-19 coronavirus in Mayotte, now bringing the total number of cases to 6.

One of the new cases is currently hospitalized in intensive care. An investigation, led by Santé Publique France and ARS, is underway to determine the patient’s journey in the past 14 days and to identify exhaustively the people with whom he would have been in close contact during this period.

ARS Mayotte has launched its enhanced health and surveillance unit, which operates 7 days a week.

ARS strengthens its health surveillance and security unit

Since Wednesday, March 18 in the evening, the Mayotte Regional Health Agency has launched its enhanced health monitoring and security unit (officially called CRAPS – Regional Support and Steering Unit) to manage this exceptional health situation and curb the spread of virus on the island.

In this context, the ARS Mayotte ensures the monitoring of the epidemiological situation and the management of possible or confirmed cases, in close coordination with all stakeholders in the health system. It is also a matter of anticipating and planning the rise of the health system to cope with a possible epidemic.

In collaboration with the CHM and in the context of this health crisis, an infectious disease specialist also joined the ARS to strengthen the teams mobilized in the monitoring of patients at home.
