This is one of the biggest frustrations of Black Widow fans: the heroine who sacrificed herself to save the universe did not have the right to a funeral worthy of the name. Unlike Iron Man who had the right to a ceremony in the presence of superheroes from around the universe, neither Natasha nor Vision had this honor. As justification given to the fans, Avengers Endgame directors said it would be strange to show the heroine’s funeral whereas his solo film would be released a few months later, even if the latter’s plot takes place well before the events ofEndgame. What if the real reason was different?
We know it, Black Widow’s plot will be between Captain America Civil War & Avengers infinity war and allow us to explore Natasha’s past, but also some moments of her future. In Avengers endgame, the heroine’s teammates evoke at one point the fact that apart from them, the young woman had no other family, but the intrigue of Black widow proves us otherwise. What if Nat was next to them? The film could thus take a step back in time and allow the MCU to conclude the arc of Black Widow and to leave room for the new generation. Yep, rumor has it, Yelena Belova could become the new Black Widow of the MCU.
