It will be released on June 27, a choice that is far from trivial since it corresponds to the beginning of the apocalypse in the series. The first images give some clues to the intrigue that will unfold in the new burst of episodes. We will find Jonas there, plagued by doubts following the revelations of the previous season. All of our questions will be answered in this last season which promises to be exciting again. As a reminder, the series immerses us in the heart of the German city of Winden. In 2019, police officer Ulrich Nielsen desperately searches for his missing son. It is not the first time that children have disappeared in this village, since in 1986, Ulrich’s little brother had suffered the same fate. History seems to repeat itself, every 33 years, children disappear. Jonas is haunted by the death of his father, who committed suicide a few days before Mikkel Nielsen’s disappearance.
Unveiled in 2017 on Netflix, the series had a resounding success at its release. Hailed by critics for its intrigue and atmosphere, the return of the series to our screens was inevitably eagerly awaited. In the script, we will find Jantje Friese and Baran bo Odar. The latter will also be behind the camera for this latest burst of episodes. On the casting side, Jonas will once again be embodied by Louis Hofmann while Lisa Vicari will lend her features to Martha.
