Thiruvananthapuram: The test result of a medical student suspected of Nipah disease in Thiruvananthapuram is negative. The result was negative in the test conducted at the Institute of Virology, Khudakkal. The student, a native of Kozhikode, was under observation at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College due to Nipah suspicion.
Meanwhile, one more person is under observation in Thiruvananthapuram with Nipah suspicions. The housewife, a native of Kattakkada Maranallur, is under surveillance. Their test results are expected to be available today. The close relatives of the 72-year-old Kattakkada resident had come to Thiruvananthapuram from Kozhikode.
After this they developed fever and shortness of breath. Following this, as a precaution, Vyodhika was shifted to Thiruvananthapuram General Hospital for observation. So far 181 samples have been tested in the state. No new positive cases were reported yesterday.
