At the start of the event, shortly after 2 p.m., the procession sets off from Place de la République and heads towards Boulevard de la Trémouille, on the tram tracks. This axis is part of a sector where “any demonstration will be prohibited from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.“, explained the prefecture of Côte-d’Or. At around 2:40 p.m., the police pushed the demonstrators back to their starting point with several jets of tear gas canisters. The procession returns to Place de la République then disperses in small groups in the city center.
