Near Lyon, breweries empty their beer barrels at sacrificed prices

As its name suggests, the operation ” Save us the keg »Launched by many brewers and wine merchants across France aims to sell bottled beers at very attractive prices to prevent them from ending up in the gutter. Among these addresses, the brasseries V and B in the region (in Saint-Priest, Vaulx-en-Velin, Givors and Villefranche-sur-Saône) have stock to sell.

Specialized in beers, wines and spirits, the brand still has several thousand liters of blond, amber and brown binouses in its barrels. Beverages that must be sold quickly otherwise they can no longer be consumed. To be offered for sale, the beers are put under pressure which allows them to be kept for an additional 15 days.

So, the liter of German beer is offered at 3 euros, while Belgian and craft beers range between 5 and 6 euros depending on the brands. Regardless of the source, each beer is poured into a bottle with a deposit of 2 euros. A golden opportunity to fill the refrigerator’s vegetable drawer (it would be time to rename it “beer bin” …) for the long weeks that are looming on the horizon …
