LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. –Pascal Siakam had 26 points and the Toronto Raptors took a 3-0 lead in their series against Brooklyn on Friday, beating the Nets 117-92.
Fred VanVleet had 22 points including a 52-foot shot to conclude the first half. He had six three-pointers.
Serge Ibaka had 20 points and 13 rebounds. Kyle Lowry added 11 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists and three steals.
Marc Gasol was limited to three points (1 in 7 in total), but he managed two blocks. His three-point shot capped a 10-0 push early in the game, giving the Raptors a 16-5 cushion.
“They really started the game strong,” said Nets coach Jacque Vaughn. They wanted to send a message early. I liked the fact that our guys didn’t give up. ”
The Raptors will have the chance to complete a sweep on Sunday, starting at 6:30 p.m.
“In this environment (the bubble), getting used to how everything goes and trying to feel a bit at home is not easy,” said Siakam. There is no feeling of playing at home or abroad. Colors change in the arena, but that’s about it.
“It’s all about focusing on the game and implementing our plan.”
Tyler Johnson led the Nets with 23 points, eight more than Caris LeVert.
Garrett Temple attempted nine three-pointers, but only one hit the target.
The Raptors have never been in deficit. They led by 17 points in the first half and then started the final quarter leading 84-68. Following a successful robbery by Lowry, a basket from Terence Davis widened the lead to 20 points.
