The victim’s family admitted that the police asked them to arrest the perpetrators themselves.
The Head of the Public Information Bureau (Karopenmas) of the National Police Inspector General Rusdi Hartono said that the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo did not want something like that to happen again.
“The National Police Chief also emphasized issues like that, how can something like this not happen again later,” Rusdi told reporters at the National Police Headquarters, Jakarta, Wednesday (29/12).

For information, the act of obscenity carried out by perpetrator A against S occurred on Saturday (18/12). The victim’s family reported the incident on Tuesday (21/12) at around 03.00 WIB.
Then, on the same day, at around 09.00 WIB, a post-mortem was carried out on the victim at the RSUD as part of collecting evidence. However, a few hours later, it turned out that the victim’s family and residents immediately arrested the perpetrator while trying to escape.
Aloysius said that investigators need to carry out an investigation process first, before arresting a perpetrator of a crime. Thus, the police cannot immediately arrest the perpetrators.
