Suara.com – Cycle shift in the orbit of the moon, coupled with rising sea levels due to climate change, will cause big flood.
Recent studies indicates this catastrophe will occur worldwide in the next decade.
CBS reports, the study was conducted NASA and the University of Hawaii.
The two examine ongoing sea level rise and the dire situation coastal cities will face during the next lunar shift or “wobble”.

The so-called wobble that occurs in the moon’s orbit is a natural phenomenon that was first documented in 1728.
This phenomenon occurs every 18.6 years and results in tidal changes.
“In half of the Moon’s 18.6-year cycle, Earth’s regular daily tides are suppressed: The tides are lower than normal, and the tides are higher than usual,” NASA said.
According to NASA, in the other half of the cycle, tides rise: high tides rise, and low tides.
Global sea level rise is pushing tides in only one direction: higher.
“So half of the 18.6-year lunar cycle counteracts the effect of sea level rise on tides, and the other half increases the effect,” NASA explains.

While the wobble itself didn’t cause any major damage, the scientists found the next tidal flood would be much worse when factoring in sea level rise due to climate change.
