The Mallorcan photographer Nando Esteva (Palma, 1979) has been awarded a silver for his series “Claro de luna”, in the international awards New York Photography Awards 2021, delivered at dawn this Friday.
The series has been awarded among those submitted by more than 3,000 photographers from 50 countries, the photographer’s office reported in a statement.
With a work that represents the lunar terrain, Esteva has created craters with sand where meteorites impact that are gastronomic elements, in a transformation that constitutes a hallmark of the Palmesan.
In this collection, the Mallorcan has combined red and blue lights with which he achieves movement and volume in each image.
With this award, the artist adds more than a hundred international photography awards throughout his career.
This same series had previously been awarded a bronze at the Budapest International Photo Awards 2021.
