• Anete Namiķe/Līva Ābere, ranked second in the Portuguese stage, played in the semi-finals against the Chinese Yuanņa Lveņa/Dze Don (#3), who were defeated three weeks ago – 14:21, 22:20, 15:13.
• In the first set, the Chinese women scored five points in a row (7:12) and reached 9:16. The Latvians responded with a series of four points, including Eber’s triumph over the net – 13:16. Namike’s run gave 16:17, but the Chinese responded with three points – 16:20. Thus had to compromise with 17:21. It happened in the second set 11:21.
Semi-final entry
• on August 14 at 15.00 Namiķe/Ebere will fight against Czech Miroslava Dunārova Daniela Resova (#6) in the semi-finals.
• Namiķe and Ēbere are performing their third joint “Future” stage. Always managed to reach at least the quarter-finals.
• As already reported, last week the Latvian women’s national team (Tīna Graudiņa/Anastasija Kravčenok and Anete Namiķe/Varvara Brailko) won third place in the CEV Nations Cup, or the first European championship for beach volleyball teams.
