Named condition for self-recovery from COVID-19

Good immunity was resistant to a new disease

Specialists from the University of Melbourne published an article in Nature Medicine, which cites a case from medical practice – a woman who became infected with a new coronavirus fully recovered in two weeks. She turned out to be a 47-year-old resident of the Chinese city of Wuhan.

According to scientists, a woman was admitted to a Melbourne hospital with characteristic symptoms – fever, weakness, shortness of breath, dry cough and sore throat. The coronavirus test was positive. However, on the 13th day of hospitalization, the manifestations of the disease completely disappeared, and on the 20th day it was already completely healthy. A blood test showed an increase in the cells of the immune system, which happens when the body recovers after seasonal flu.

It is noted that during treatment, antibiotics, steroids or antiviral drugs were not used. Doctors only injected intravenous fluid into a woman’s body to maintain water balance.

“Our study shows that, despite the fact that COVID-19 is caused by a new virus, when we recover in previously healthy people, we see a stable immune response, similar to what we see with the flu,” the authors of the article note.

Scientists noticed that the patient had neither bad habits, nor any pathologies.

Russian experts previously concluded that the coronavirus-causing COVID-19 retreats when treated with fever.
