Mystery solved: why dinosaurs live in the world of Dragon Ball

All kinds of beings live in the world of Dragon Ball, including dinosaurs. There could be several explanations for their existence.

Fictional worlds don’t always have to be logical. Dragon Ball, in particular, is a good role model here. In the universe of Son Goku & Co. there are all sorts of crazy species, some of whose origins are still unclear. Dinosaurs are also represented there, along with Saiyajins and beast people. But why actually?

Series creator Akira Toriyama leaves the answer to this question open. That’s why we decided to get to the bottom of the matter and found three possible explanations why the prehistoric giant lizards are omnipresent in the anime and manga classics.

1. The dinosaurs were created artificially

That the dinosaurs existed several million years ago is also a fact in the Dragon Ball universe. In the film Dragon Ball Z: Clash of the Gods, Beerus explains that he wiped them all out because they were uncivilized. But why do we see the giant lizards in the presence of our heroes?

It may be a Jurassic Park scenario. The people of the world could have cloned the dinosaurs using their DNA and brought them back to life. After all, the technology there is already very advanced and even interplanetary travel is not a major problem for mankind.

2. You are from another planet

Alien planets can be reached relatively easily in Dragon Ball. It is therefore quite possible that the dinosaurs did not come from Earth, but from another star, where they also exist, but were never destroyed. In this theory, humans or other beings brought them to earth and then bred them.

3. Beerus didn’t wipe them out at all

As already explained above, it was not a meteorite, but Beerus, the god of destruction, who was personally responsible for the destruction of the dinosaurs. At least he claims to have wiped out all of them, but what if that is not true at all?

After all, we know Beerus as a spoiled character who likes to do his work sloppily. Perhaps he did not destroy all the dinosaurs in the process and later no longer had the earth on his screen. This enabled the giant lizards to reproduce and develop naturally, so that a few million years later they could even coexist with humans.
