Dresden (dpa / sn) – This year’s Dresden Music Festival will end earlier than planned. The reason is the closure of cultural institutions from Monday, anchored in the new Saxon Corona regulation, the management announced on Saturday. This means that the event planned for the evening with “Tom Schilling & The Jazz Kids” will be the last.

“The current situation demands maximum flexibility from our audience and all artists and organizers. So it remains for me to call out to you all: Stay healthy and optimistic, we will plan anew, and the future has new musical surprises in store for you,” said Musikfestspiel- Director Jan Vogler. Tickets that have already been purchased can be refunded via the visitor service.

The Dresden Music Festival was originally supposed to take place in May of this year. However, due to the corona pandemic, the highlights of the “Dialogues” program have been postponed to November. Violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter kicked off on November 7th in the Kulturpalast. The festival was originally supposed to run until November 28th.
