MU has contacted River Plate, wants to sign Julian Alvarez

Manchester United want to bring a striker River Plate, Julian Alvarez in the January transfer window. The 21-year-old attacker can be redeemed at a low price.

Argentine daily Ole reported and quoted by the Daily Mail, MU has contacted River Plate to express interest. Interim manager of the Red Devils, Ralf Rangnick is looking for a new striker to add to his team’s front-line options, as rumors of a move for Anthony Martial spread.

Alvarez has a fairly cheap release clause, which is only 17 million pounds, which can increase to 21 million pounds in the last 10 days of the January transfer window. That figure is believed not to be a problem for MU.

Besides MU, there are Bayern Munich, AC Milan, Juventus and Atletico Madrid who are reportedly also interested in Alvarez, has even sent envoys to monitor his performance in Argentina.

Alvarez just delivered River Plate won the Argentine League 2021. He also contributed 18 goals and 7 assists in 21 matches. He has also played for the Argentine national team five times, although all of them are substitutes.

Alvarez reportedly wants to move in order to be brought by Team Tango to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar in November. By playing at a bigger club, it is hoped that his talent will be further honed and he will get more calls for the national team.

Alvarez himself cannot confirm where he will land in January, it is clear that in that month he will make a decision, as reported by Metro.

MU is not a foreign club with players from Argentina. Previously there were Juan Sebastian Veron, Gabriel Heinze, Carlos Tevez, Angel Di Maria, Marcos Rojo and Sergio Romero who had played there, with varying degrees of success.
