Hamáček (41) is leader of the Social Democratic Party and also head of the crisis committee that coordinates logistics efforts to counter the corona pandemic.

The country is one of the countries in Europe with the highest infection rates per 100,000 inhabitants. In the Netherlands, more than six thousand people have died of the lung virus.
