2-1 triumph over Trabzonspor, in the 1st leg of the Conference League playoff
This Thursday, José Mourinho’s Roma beat Trabzonspor, by 2-1, in the first leg of the UEFA Conference League playoff, in what was the Portuguese coach’s debut in charge of the Italian capital’s team.
After a goalless first half, the team led by the Portuguese coach jumped to the front of the scoreboard just 10 minutes into the second half, with Lorenzo Pellegrini ahead of the giallorossi. The Italian advantage lasted just under 10 minutes, with Cornelius tying the match after an assist from Bruno Peres, a Brazilian who left Roma in this transfer market to head to the Turkish championship.
However, the victory would not escape the hands of Mourinho, with the reinforcement Shomurodov, who cost 17 million euros to the coffers of the Italian team, providing service and closing the accounts of the match 2-1.
The second leg duel is scheduled for the next 26th (Thursday).
