A motorist was injured in a one-sided accident on the Woldjerspoorweg, near Engelbert, on Monday evening. The driver ended up next to the road just after 10 p.m. for unknown reasons and then rammed into a tree. According to a bystander, the victim, who is trapped in the vehicle after the impact, must be freed by the emergency services.
As far as is known, no other road users were involved in the incident. The person driving the car would have been the only occupant. In addition to the ambulance service, a mobile medical team was called to care for the injured and landed by trauma helicopter. The Woldjerspoorweg is temporarily closed, the police reports.
