With a statement of few but very significant lines, Yamaha announced that Maverick Vinales will not participate in the Austrian GP – which will start tomorrow – by withdrawing his registration from the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team.
An absence that suspension follows of the rider by Yamaha due to the unexplained functioning of the bike during the MotoGP race in Styria last weekend of which the rider is accused
A decision made after a thorough analysis of telemetry and data collected in the last few days of testing.
Yamaha’s conclusion is that Vinales with his behavior it could have caused significant engine damage of his YZR-M1, damage that could have fallen on the pilot himself and that could have been endanger other pilots running.
Vinales it will not be replaced in the Austrian GP and the decisions regarding the next races they will be taken later a more detailed analysis of the situation and after further meetings between Yamaha and Vinales.
