A passerby reported a car parked in the forest with three motionless occupants to the operations center at 7:30 a.m. on Monday, the Zurich canton police said on Monday afternoon.
The rescue workers who were deployed immediately could only have found the death of the woman and her two girls.

According to current knowledge, it can be assumed that the mother, who lives in Germany, traveled to Switzerland with her children on Sunday and killed her twins and herself there, the police wrote.
The facts and the motive that led to this act are being investigated by the Zurich canton police, the public prosecutor’s office and the Institute for Forensic Medicine at the University of Zurich and the Zurich Forensic Institute.
