Africa: Morocco, true to solidarity commitments (newspaper)

Kinshasa – Morocco has remained faithful to its commitments of solidarity by providing aid to other African countries, the Congolese RD daily “Forum des As” wrote on Tuesday 23 June.

In an article, signed Gloire Batomene, under the title: “Covid-19: Students from 15 African countries living in Morocco welcome medical aid from King Mohammed VI”, the newspaper stresses that “Support that proves once again the attachment of the Moroccan Sovereign to His Continent”.

After recalling that Moroccan medical aid to 15 countries of the Continent to fight against the health crisis of the coronavirus pandemic is composed of nearly 8 million masks, 900,000 visors, 600,000 disposable charlottes, 60,000 disposable gowns, 30,000 liters of gel hydroalcoholic as well as 75,000 boxes of chloroquine and 15,000 boxes of azithromycin, the newspaper noted that “The Cherifian Kingdom does not derogate from its African vocation (and) despite the health crisis linked to the Covid-19 which is hitting the whole planet, Morocco has remained faithful to its commitments of solidarity by providing assistance to other countries Africans ».

Representatives of African students in Morocco warmly thanked His Majesty King Mohammed VI for this logistical support, writes the Congolese RD daily.

And to report, on this subject, testimonies such as that of the Secretary General of the student community of the DRC, Momponga Mitsho, in these terms: “I would like to express our sincere thanks to His Majesty, May God assist him, for the support in medical aid granted to our country the DRC”.

In the same vein, the National Executive Secretary of the Community of African student interns in Morocco (Cesam), Lamine Ndiaye, said: “As the 1st magistrate of African student interns in Morocco, I take this opportunity to salute the initiative of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may the Almighty assist him, for these gifts that He has granted to these African countries in the goal of strengthening efforts in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. Long live His Majesty for Africa to prosper ”, he adds.

And to highlight the Moroccan industry, the newspaper particularly stresses that “Moroccan companies have manufactured protective products and equipment supplied to African countries, in accordance with WHO standards”.
