As the EFE agency has advanced, in Caracas the exercises, called “Escudo Bolivariano 2020 ″, took place in various State bodies, such as the Legislative Palace or the Central Bank of Venezuela.
On Wednesday, the President of Venezuela explained that these exercises aim to put into practice the new Constitutional Law of the Venezuelan Armed Forces, in organizational, territorial and operational aspects.
“We, who love Venezuela, move forward. Let us not miss a single day. It is time to move forward at the institutional, political, popular and military level. Offensive and permanent battle! ”Said Nicolás Maduro, who was speaking in Caracas at the time during an act that marked the anniversary of the state-owned Mission Transporte program.
The announcement of the military exercises was carried out the day after the arrival of the Venezuelan parliamentary president, opponent Juan Guaidó, arrived in the Venezuelan capital, following a tour that began on January 19 in Colombia, having later visited the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Spain, Canada, France and the United States, where he held meetings with different rulers, including with US President Donald Trump.
The Venezuelan crisis has worsened since January 2019, when Guaidó declared himself interim President of Venezuela to call for a transitional government and free elections in the country.
The United States of America was the first of more than 50 countries to support Juan Guaidó, as did Portugal, a position taken within the European Union.
