More than 7,000 Extremaduran women will undergo mammograms in July within the Breast Cancer Early Detection Program – Extremadura News


The Extremadura Health Service (SES) has summoned more than 7,000 women in the region to undergo mammograms during the month of July, within the Breast Cancer Early Detection Program.

About 4,000 users will be examined in the mobile units that this program has, which will visit 12 towns in the region this month. The rest, some 3,300 women from the most populated localities, are summoned to take the test in the Specialized Attention centers of the SES.

As in all SES services and in all social activities, the aforementioned users must follow the norms and recommendations of the health authorities such as keeping their distances, extreme hand hygiene, showing up promptly at the time of the appointment to avoid crowds, and do not go to the test if they have respiratory problems, fever or symptoms compatible with Covid-19.

The mobile units will begin their routes tomorrow, July 1, in the town of La Cumbre, in Cáceres, and will then continue their itineraries in Olivenza, Solana de los Barros, Aldeacentenera, Plasenzuela, Jaraicejo, Serradilla, Torrejón el Rubio, Mirabel, Guadalupe, Alía and Hervás .

Women from twelve other small towns are also mentioned, and they will have to travel to one of the populations mentioned above to have mammograms in the mobile units.

This is the case of the users of San Jorge de Alor, Villarreal, Santo Domingo, San Benito de la Conteienda, San Francisco de Olivenza, San Rafael de Olivenza, Retamar, Cortegana, Santa Marta de Magasca, Salvatierra de Santiago, Botija and La Calera .

Women residing in urban centers who will participate during the month of July in the Breast Cancer Early Detection Program will be treated at the Specialized Care centers of Badajoz (829), Cáceres (661), Mérida (557), Plasencia (425). ), Don Benito (352), Navalmoral de la Mata (165), Almendralejo (115), Zafra (102), Coria (114) and Talarrubias (6).

The Extremadura Breast Cancer Early Detection Program, which has been developing since 1998, is aimed at all women aged 50 to 69 years living in the region, and those aged 40 to 49 with a history of breast cancer in the first place. grade.
