According to Chinese scientists, the 2019-nCoV coronavirus was transmitted to humans by a bat via the pangolin, a small mammal whose flesh is very popular in the country. Bones and scales are also sought after in traditional medicine. “The virus was discovered in a market that sold wild animals”, concludes journalist Arnauld Miguet.
