EINDHOVEN –
More than fifty corona patients in Brabant were picked up on Monday and transferred to hospitals elsewhere in the country. Since Friday, nearly two hundred sick people have been affected. This is reported by the Regional Consultation Acute Care Chain in Brabant.

The transfer of patients from hospitals started on Friday after various cries for help from healthcare staff and hospital administrators. The capacity of hospitals in Brabant, including intensive care, was in danger of flooding due to the influx of seriously ill corona patients.
Because two hundred patients have been taken from hospitals in Brabant, the situation is ‘under control’ again, says a ROAZ spokesman. He does add a big comment: “It continues to look from day to day how the accretion of new patients works out.” Since Saturday afternoon, five planners from Defense have been helping with the logistical coordination of the transport of Brabant corona patients. The soldiers work from the Elisabeth-TweeSteden Hospital in Tilburg.
‘Patients avoid hospital’
In the meantime, the Catharina Hospital in Eindhoven has noticed that people with serious complaints are staying away. A spokesperson calls on people not to avoid the hospital. “People with serious complaints such as chest pain or suddenly severe abdominal pain should simply come to the hospital after consultation with the doctor. They shouldn’t avoid it. Then the complaints will be much worse when they come, that is not the intention. “
Number of corona patients increased less rapidly
The increase in the number of registered corona infections in both Brabant and the Netherlands rose less sharply on Monday than in the previous days. This is evident from the daily update of RIVM. This also applies to the number of people who died of the coronavirus. That seems to be a positive fact, but according to RIVM it is too early to be enthusiastic. A spokesperson speaks about ‘a crucial week’ that has arrived in the Netherlands.
