More than 26,000 new cases of monkeypox in the US, hope the infection is not cleared soon: InfoQuest

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said the U.S. has confirmed more than 26,000 cases of monkeypox as of Monday, with 5,010 confirmed cases in California, followed by 3,948 in New York State and 2,543 in Florida.

Last week, the CDC reported that the monkeypox virus is unlikely to be completely eradicated in the United States in the near future. As the United States has an increasing number of monkeypox vaccines. And people are becoming more aware of how to avoid infection.

This was reported by the Xinhua News Agency. Monkeypox infections are rarely fatal. Most cases heal on their own within 2-4 weeks, with the World Health Organization (WHO) stating a mortality rate of around 3-6%, but those with immunodeficiency states are more likely to get sick if infected.
