In Ukraine, there is a sharp increase in infection and hospitalization of patients with coronavirus.

In the Kharkiv region, 127 children were hospitalized with a diagnosis of coronavirus. Strain Delta was confirmed in 99% of them. This is on Tuesday, September 21, says Ukrinform with reference to the director of the health department of the Kharkiv regional state administration Maxim Khaustov.

“The Children’s Infectious Diseases Hospital is 43% full. 127 children are being treated. 99% have the Delta strain. Indeed, this strain has such a feature that many of the sick are children,” said Khaustov.

He noted that the medical institutions of the region of the so-called “first wave” are filled by 46%. There are now a total of 1,372 coronavirus patients there.

Speaking about their condition, he stressed that only 4% of them have been vaccinated. They also “tolerate diseases more easily and their course of the disease is different.”

“The unvaccinated have a rapid increase in side complications. The vaccinated have a mild course,” said the director of the department.

Earlier it was reported that 95 people died in Ukraine, who were vaccinated against coronavirus.
