A 46-year-old woman from Bruges was seriously injured on Monday afternoon when she got under a truck with her moped. This happened at the intersection of the Expresweg with the Gistelsesteenweg in Sint-Andries. The exact circumstances remain to be seen.

The accident happened around 3 pm Monday afternoon at the busy intersection in Sint-Andries. Perhaps the truck drove into the parking lot of a company and the moped driver drove along the Gistelsesteenweg. The woman got her legs clamped under the truck. She cried out in pain. The fire brigade was rounded up and they eventually managed to free the woman from her position.
The victim was immediately taken to hospital. She was seriously injured in her legs, but according to the police she was not in mortal danger. The exact circumstances remain to be investigated. It is not yet clear whether this was a blind spot accident.
