Montpellier Queen Race Raises Record Funds for Breast Cancer Research

A human tide set off in the race against cancer this Sunday in Montpellier. The race to raise funds for breast cancer research broke participation records.

A pink wave to fight against cancer. The Monpellier Queen, race to raise funds for research on breast cancer, started this Sunday, June 4 from the gardens of Peyrou in Montpellier. It broke participation records this year with 8,000 registered against 5,000 last year. Runners must cover approximately five kilometers around the city. 125,000 euros will be donated to breast cancer research.

Ariane Brodier, host of You are great, broadcast every morning on France 3 Occitanie, is the godmother of this edition which started around 11 a.m. this Sunday morning.

Once reserved for women, the race is now mixed.

The race was born in 2009. It has raised 740,000 euros in thirteen years of existence. Sums paid to associations fighting against breast cancer. In 2022, the Montpellier Reine made it possible to create a solidarity network to help women in their care journey.
