In recent weeks, residents of rue François Dezeuze, in the Chamberte district, in Montpellier, reported recurring night-time nuisances to 17, the emergency number of police help. They complained in particular of crowds in front of the access to an underground car park of a residence: badly parked vehicles, occupants in great discussion outside and loud music.
Surveillances
Wednesday, police officers from the proximity security group -GSP– the central police station carried out a discreet surveillance at the address indicated. At 11:05 p.m., they surprised two individuals on foot who were going to descend into the free-access underground car park. They fled, but one of them could be reached and arrested and taken to the police station. The premises remained under surveillance and at 12:05 am, police officers from the anti-crime brigade -Bac- in hideout saw a car arrive. The driver, alone on board, parked in front of the box that the police had closed and unloaded bottles of alcohol, cartridges of cigarettes and a dozen canisters of nitrous oxide, better known as laughing gas. He was in turn arrested and taken into police custody.
