A 25-year-old Reunion Islander was tried this Monday, in the context of an immediate appearance by the Montluçon Criminal Court. He was prosecuted for acts of violence and theft of a handbag, committed against his ex-girlfriend, Friday, June 26, in Montluçon.
The romantic relationship between the accused and the very complicated victim
At the hearing, the presiding judge had to untangle the threads of a very complicated relationship between the defendant and the victim, in order to understand what had happened on Friday afternoon and why the couple had arrived there.
After a story, started in October, full of jealousy, verbal (but not physical) violence and ruptures, the defendant and his ex-partner had to meet again to have a missing key for the young man’s apartment redone and that the victim recovers belongings she had left at his home.

He throws a full soda can over the victim
While they argue by going to the locksmith of a shopping center, the situation escalates in front of the closed shop.
After taking her purse, the defendant gets angry, forcing the young woman to protect herself behind a vigil. At the height of anger, he throws a full can of soda at the victim who barely avoids it.
The Reunion fled with the handbag and the guards called the police who were quick to find him.
An accused who does not question himself
If he has always recognized the facts, he never ceases to justify his attitude and the fact that he “fucks with lead” because of “the provocations” of his ex-partner.
No excuse or questioning appeared in the speech of the young man who has nine references to his criminal record, including several for acts of violence. He also made three stays in prison in Reunion.

A verdict following the prosecution’s requisitions
The court followed the prosecution’s requisitions by ordering him to twelve months in prison, including four months with a two-year probationary suspension, care and work obligations as well as a ban on contacting the victim. The accused was kept in detention.
