Disappointed by life, after some unsuccessful experiences in the family, in study and work, the “students” were convinced that they had found the right purifying therapy to face, thanks to positive energy courses, life with courage and regain lost happiness. Actually i courses organized in Montepulciano (Siena) from a kind of 46-year-old “holy man”, Andreaa Paolini, were for the prosecution a pretext for inflicting sexual violence on students they became adepts in spite of themselves. Man it was arrested (under house arrest) by the agents of the mobile squad of Siena and Florence in collaboration with the SCO of Rome. Precautionary measure, with residence obligation, also to the man’s partner, Stefania Fabbro, 50 years old from Veneto.

Accuses him
According to investigators behind the lessons to increase positive energy, they were hiding sexual violence e requests for cash donations and free work. The under investigation is also contested with the abusive exercise of the medical and psychotherapeutic profession because, as stated in the ordinance, they would have charged some pseudo-visits to relatives of the trainees, family members with pathologies such as asthma, cerebral infarction, stroke and against the mother of an SLA student.

The practices
Those who participated in the course had to buy gadgets, amulets, discs, stones (with a variable cost of up to 800 euros) and attend, always for a fee, the various training courses and group meetings to get to the purification of the soul. According to the prosecutor of Florence, which is coordinating the investigations, some people would even have been hypnotized to make them even more docile. In an interception the “holy man” speaks openly of hypnosis techniques which, however, were not intended to alleviate the anxiety or depression of the followers but to convince them to donate money, work for free and undergo sexual violence.

The complaint
The investigation was triggered by the complaint of a mother who had seen her son, a university student, suddenly change mood and then leave the family after a few sessions in the association to which she had donated all her savings, about 8 thousand euros.
