Montauban. “The health crisis does not slow down the practice among toddlers at MFC-TG” indicates Guillaume Ramalet, head of the football school

the essential
The round ball is still as popular as ever, especially among young people. And at the Montauban football club, we can see it despite the last few months that were particularly complicated.

The former player of Niort, Châteauroux, Balma, Les Fontaines, currently responsible for the MFC-TG football school, Guillaume Ramelet speaks with great conviction and wisdom on the working methods put in place within the club. He evokes the past, present and future, not hesitating to emphasize the search for improvement which seems to have pushed the club towards Excellence. The recent girl-boy labels speak for themselves… This MFC is moving forward with a lot of humility!

Following the resumption of activity at the Football School, what is the staffing situation?

The start of the boys’ soccer school took place on 23/08 for U10 / U11, 25/08 for U7 / U8 / U9 and September 1 for U6; the situation is very favorable to the club. We held open houses in June in order to build up our workforce for the 2021-1922 season and unfortunately the demand was greater than the places available. To date, the U10 / U11 category is complete with 28 U10 for 2 educators and 28 U11 for 2 educators + 1 specific goalkeeper educator, as well as the U8 / U9 category with 28 U8 for 3 educators and 28 U9 for 3 educators + 1 goalkeeper initiation educator. The only places remaining today are linked to the U6 / U7 category, with 2 educators for a maximum of 14 children. The health crisis does not slow down the practice of football among the very young at Montauban FC-TG.

How do you feel about this reunion?

It is above all the excitement and the desire to find the children, the desire to get to work with training and competitions to help them progress and practice football in its entirety, while hoping that the health situation allows us to do so. . Our watchword, since the beginning of the crisis, has been to be positive; children have always responded present even when our practice was limited, and all educators must question themselves and find solutions to continue to move forward.

You have just obtained the “Football School” label; with gold for the women, it is a solid box for the club which shines particularly in terms of training. Your analysis?

Regarding the Gold School Football labels for girls and Elite for boys, it’s really a hit with the club, which indeed shines in terms of training. This award is explained by the desire of all the club’s educators and its leaders to want to create a club identity, by establishing a common technical policy. The club has teams at the highest regional level in all 11-a-side football categories and for several years now; We have put in place an organization, a working framework as well as a regulatory framework within the football schools in order to structure the club as a whole. And the goal of any educator today is to be there for the children, and to help them progress individually and as a team with the club’s own game ideas. But we should not stop here and continue to think about how to improve things and see even further; it is not an end.

With the benefit of hindsight, the installation in Jean Verbeke has allowed you an axis of progression. What criteria can you rely on from now on to move towards excellence?

Looking back, even if the seasons were incomplete due to the pandemic, moving to Jean Verbeke allowed us to improve in every way. Club life was complicated by the diversity of the sites. The linking of each pole of the club and the inter relationship boys / girls at the new complex as well as the ideas of development in technical terms, club life, associations, relations with parents and partners, will allow us today to ‘go further. Lots of ideas emerge; but everything in its time, you have to take the temperature and develop things in a concrete and realistic way.

A word about the courses offered to young people by your club?

The courses offered to young people by the club remain in the same line, and it is still a success from the participation point of view; this summer, we have proposed a new formula with an advanced training stay over 2 days, with 25 participants: interesting for a first. Regarding leisure courses, we were fully booked; we offer a course from October 25 to 29 for 40 children. The program as well as the registrations will start at the beginning of September (communication on the club website).
