Mongolian President and Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Attend Vietnam-Mongolia Business Forum to Strengthen Economic Cooperation

Hanoi (VNA) – Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khürelsükh and Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang participated in a Vietnam-Mongolia business forum on the morning of November 2 in Hanoi.

At the event, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang said that between 2017 and 2022, bilateral trade between Vietnam and Mongolia doubled and in the first half of 2023, it reached around 45 million. dollars.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang then said he hopes that the business communities of both sides will make strong contributions to promoting relations between the two countries in the coming time, especially in the fields of economy, investment and tourism.

To further promote economic cooperation between the two countries, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang proposed that the two sides support each other to improve the efficiency of regional and international economic integration, and facilitate import activities. -export to increase bilateral trade to $200 million in the near future.

For his part, Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khürelsükh announced that he and senior Vietnamese leaders agreed to upgrade relations between Mongolia and Vietnam to the level of “comprehensive partnership” on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations in 2024.

In addition, according to him, the signing by the two parties of a visa waiver agreement for holders of diplomatic passports, service passports and ordinary passports during this visit, will create favorable conditions for operations and cooperation between businesses in the two countries.

Ukhnaagiin Khürelsükh affirmed that the Mongolian state will continue to create stable working conditions and a favorable legal environment for foreign investors, including Vietnamese companies.

During the forum, the Mongolian President and the Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister attended the announcement ceremony of the opening of a direct air route between the city of Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa, Vietnam) and the capital Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia).-VNA
