Langweid (dpa / lby) – A stranger stole money from the Christmas mail in Swabia. “The empty envelope arrived at the recipient at Christmas – not the money,” said a police spokesman on Saturday.
Accordingly, a 60-year-old had sent 75 euros as a Christmas present to a 20-year-old relative. “Never send cash in the mail,” advised the spokesman. “Banknotes are easy to feel and a letter like this passes through many hands, especially before Christmas.” The investigations into the incident in Langweid (Augsburg district) are ongoing. It happens more often that money disappears from envelopes.
