Mobile Air Defense Fire Teams Destroy 8 of 17 Attack UAVs: Russian Attack on Ukraine

Yesterday, January 2, mobile air defense fire teams destroyed 8 of 17 attack UAVs. They also successfully worked on enemy cruise missiles.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Telegram channel Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Sergei Naev.

In the Northern Operational Zone, mobile fire groups destroyed:

  • 8 out of 17 attack unmanned aerial vehicles;
  • 11 of 48 cruise missiles.

As Naev said, mobile air defense groups are armed with:

  • short-range anti-aircraft missile systems;
  • anti-aircraft artillery guns;
  • man-portable anti-aircraft missile systems;
  • heavy machine guns.

Russian attack on Ukraine on the night of January 2

On the night of January 2, Russian terrorists repeated a massive attack, using various types of air attacks. The Russians attacked critical infrastructure, industrial, civilian and military targets, and the main target was Kyiv.

In the first minutes, the enemy used “Shaheds”. In total, air defense destroyed 35 attack UAVs. Terrorists in the morning

  • launched at least 70 Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 air-launched cruise missiles;
  • ten Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles;
  • three Kalibr cruise missiles;
  • 12 missiles that flew along a ballistic trajectory of the Iskander-M/S-300/S-400 type.

A total of 72 air targets were destroyed, namely:

  • 10 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles;
  • 59 Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 cruise missiles;
  • 3 cruise missiles “Caliber”.
