Police announce a major breakthrough in the case of missing Sydney couple Jesse Baird and Luke Davies as the remains of the pair are found. New South Wales (NSW) Police Commissioner Karen Webb expresses her confidence in the latest development.

Discovery on Bungonia Property

During an intense search operation, the bodies of Luke Davies and Jesse Baird were discovered on a rural property in the town of Bungonia. The authorities were able to locate the remains after Beaumont Lamarre-Condon, a police officer who was once in a relationship with Mr. Baird, finally disclosed the information.

According to Detective Superintendent Daniel Doherty, the bodies were found “near the entrance to the property” and attempts had been made to conceal them with rocks and debris. Police suspect that two “surf bags” were used to transport the deceased couple in a white van from Baird’s home in Paddington, Sydney.

Accused Police Officer

The case takes a shocking turn as Beaumont Lamarre-Condon, previously a celebrity blogger and a police officer since 2019, is charged with the murder of Jesse Baird and Luke Davies. In a disturbing revelation, investigators found a bullet matching Mr. Lamarre-Condon’s work-issued gun at Baird’s residence, along with a significant amount of blood and signs of a struggle.

Mr. Lamarre-Condon, who was refused bail, has not provided any comments regarding the charges.

Public interest in the case is exceptionally high, as this is believed to be the first suspected murder case involving a New South Wales police officer in several decades. This shocking incident has triggered a review of out-of-hours access officers have to their firearms.

The influence of the case has also reached Sydney’s iconic Mardi Gras parade, known for its history of LGBTQ+ activism and its complex relationship with the police. Organizers have decided to bar the NSW police from participating this year, leading to fierce online debates.

Remembering Luke Davies and Jesse Baird

As the investigations continue, tributes pour in for Jesse Baird, a former presenter and red carpet reporter, and Luke Davies, a Qantas flight attendant. Their presence and involvement in the community are fondly remembered.

Concerning the progress of the case, Commissioner Webb states, “Obviously Jesse and Luke were very much an active part of the community, and I look at their photos online and know they had a great life.”
