A few days ago, the six-year-old was located on the seabed. The girl was lying in a bag attached to an anchor belonging to the boat of her father, Tomás Gimenos (37). Another bag was also found, but this one was empty.
The grim story was published by the High Court of the Canary Islands and the Civil Guard at the end of last week, writes The country.
Promised to “take good care of the children”
In the time before the children and their father disappeared, the 37-year-old is said to have told her ex-partner on the phone that she would never see the children again, but at the same time promised that he “would take good care of them”.
Tomás Gimeno had an informal agreement on the right to visit, and on the same day as the children disappeared, the one-year-old was picked up at the mother’s home, while the six-year-old was picked up at a German education center for children.
When his ex-wife would later pick up the girls, no one was home. She tried to call, and then got the answer that he was out to dinner with his daughters, and that he would later drive them home to her.
But the girls never came home.
May have received help with the abduction
Ever since the two siblings disappeared on April 27, the police have been looking for the girls both on land and at sea. They have been wanted, and the organization SOS Missing has posted pictures of the missing girls.
Police are still looking for the youngest girl, Anna. The police have also not been able to track down the father. It is suspected that he may have taken his own life.
According to the news agency Efe Police suspect that Tomás Gimenos may have been assisted by one or more people to carry out the abduction of his own daughters.
Surveillance camera: Loaded bags and suitcases in the boat
Surveillance cameras in the harbor where the boat was moored show that Thomas Gimeno carried out several suitcases and bags from a white Audi A3, and then loaded this into his boat.
The father of two’s boat was later found drifting off the east coast of Tenerife the day after the three family members disappeared. One of the police theories is that Tomás Gimenos took both girls on a boat trip, and later dumped them at sea.
The mother called several times the same evening and night, when the girls did not come home, but without getting an answer.
