It was the 25-year-old Jostein Brage Dahlum from Levanger in Trøndelag who was found dead on Friday morning at Nyheitinden in Rauma.
This is stated by the police in a press release.
The name is released in consultation with the relatives.
The police launched a search on Thursday morning after Dahlum had not returned from a mountain hike. He was found on Friday morning, in the area by Nyheitinden.
At 15.23 on Friday, the police in Møre og Romsdal announced on Twitter that the missing person had been found dead.
Lensman Roar Mordal Hilde in Vestnes and Rauma confirms to NTB that the man has been found dead.
– The rescue operation in Rauma has now ended. The missing person has been found dead. His injuries are compatible with a fall from the mountain, Hilde informs NTB.
Rescue dogs, the Red Cross, Norwegian People’s Aid, alpine rescue groups and helicopters have assisted in the search.
