Ismail left the management of the most recent Assassin’s Creed, developed at Ubisoft Montreal, after being publicly accused of hiding the fact that he was married in order to maintain relationships with other women. In the meantime, however, he was still employed by Ubisoft.

This would no longer be the case, however, as indicated in a message that would have been distributed to Ubisoft Montreal employees on Thursday and that Kotaku was able to consult.

“Following an investigation by an external firm, it was determined that Ashraf’s job at Ubisoft should be terminated,” the letter said. We cannot provide any details about this confidential investigation. ”

A spokesperson for Ubisoft also reportedly confirmed to journalist Jason Schreier, of Bloomberg, that Ashraf Ismail no longer works for the French company.

The dismissal of the former creative director ofAssassin’s Creed Valhalla comes in addition to the multiple layoffs and resignations that have accumulated since the publication in June of allegations of misconduct within the company.

Leaders like Serge Hascoët, Tommy Francois and Maxime Béland have since left Ubisoft.

In early July, the editor’s CEO, Yves Guillemot, had also promised his employees a “Structural change” within the group.
