Ministry of Transportation Opens Opportunity for Airplane Boarding Regulations Without PCR Tests to Apply Tomorrow

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Ministry of Communications (Ministry of Transportation) said airplane passengers are no longer required to do PCR test for all flight routes starting Wednesday (3/11) tomorrow. This is in line with the easing of the PPKM policy by the government in the midst of a decline in cases covid-19 lately.

Spokesperson for the Ministry of Transportation Adita Irawati said that currently her party was still waiting for a circular (SE) from the Covid-19 Task Force. After the SE is published, the Ministry of Transportation can only release the SE related to the latest flight rules.

“Still waiting for the SE Task Force. As soon as the SE Task Force is published, we will immediately publish the SE Kemenhub,” Adita said to CNNIndonesia.com, Tuesday (2/11).

Adita projects that the SE from the Covid-19 Task Force will be published today. Thus, the Ministry of Transportation can immediately release the SE regarding the latest flight rules today.

“But (SE) can only take effect on November 3, 2021 at 00.00 WIB,” Adita explained.

Previously, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy said that passengers traveling to the Java-Bali region no longer needed to do a PCR test. Prospective passengers can do an antigen test which is much cheaper than the PCR test.

“There will be changes to the trip, namely the Java-Bali area, air travel no longer has to use a PCR test, but only an antigen test. The same applies to areas outside Java and non-Bali,” said Muhadjir, Monday (1/11).

He said the policy change was made at the suggestion of the Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian.

However, in the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs (Inmendagri) Number 57 of 2021 concerning the Enforcement of Restrictions on Community Activities Level 3, Level 2 and Level 1 Corona Virus Disease 2019 in the Java and Bali Regions, it is regulated that the easing does not apply to people who have not received the corona vaccine injection. dose 2.

Those who have not received the Covid vaccine dose 2 are still required to show a negative Covid test result using the PCR test method.
