Minister of Health Will Allow Young People to Participate in Vaccinations, but Must Bring the Elderly

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.comHealth Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said his party would issue a new policy to accelerate the program covid-19 vaccination.

Budi said he would allow young people to follow Covid-19 vaccination with the condition that you have to bring the elderly.

“I will immediately issue a policy, one young volunteer can be injected (Covid-19 vaccine) as long as two elderly people are brought along, because parents are also difficult to invite,” Budi said at the inauguration of the Indonesia Bangkit Indonesia Vaccination Center at RSUI which was broadcast on the official Instagram RS account. UI, Thursday (25/3/2021).

Budi said that one of the problems in implementing vaccination in Indonesia is that the elderly are losing out on the younger age group.

The elderly group, he explained, is a priority group in participating in the Covid-19 vaccination. Because, if you are exposed to Covid-19 you have a high risk of death.

Therefore, he asked the elderly group to be helped to join the vaccination program.

“So please help our parents, our grandparents, our parents-in-law and those who are weaker,” he said.

Furthermore, Budi said, every individual who has been injected with the Covid-19 vaccine is still susceptible to exposure to Covid-19.

For that, he asked the public to continue to apply health protocols.

“The injection doesn’t make us Superman, it doesn’t make us immune to the virus. The first one has to know that the optimal antibody is formed 28 days after the second injection,” he concluded.
