Million in income, but also debts and loans! Look what the politicians spent on

Deputies and senators reported hundreds of thousands of revenues in their property declarations, but also debts of the same amount. Confessions of public officials can be found here. Just enter the name of the politician you are interested in and search for the document for that year. The TN.cz editorial staff has prepared an overview of interesting items.

Highest income

Senator Ivo Valenta (Private) was the best at last year. He admitted over two billion crowns, which come from 15 companies from all over Europe, where Valenta is a partner or member of the Supervisory Board. The most famous is the lottery company Synot, which he owns.

With this money, the “king of gambling” bought, for example, a motorcycle that cost almost 1.5 million or a set of antiques for more than 3.5 million crowns. It has over 430 million in savings and term accounts, five million in cash and states 269 million crowns in the column of the loan agreement.

The biggest debt

The record holder in this regard is ANO MP Marcela Melková, who borrowed almost 8.6 million crowns from a private creditor. Another 400 thousand must be repaid to the bank.

Andrej Babiš

Prime Minister Andrej Babiš (YES) reported an income of almost 215 million crowns last year. More than 92 million crowns landed on his account from the Agrofert holding company and the Imoba company, which he deposited in the trust fund, another almost 15 million came to him from a Swiss bank and less than seven million from a Luxembourg insurance company.

In addition, Babiš also stated income of 1,300 crowns from the YES movement and 350 crowns from the Bžany Hunting Society. According to the law, they do not have to declare such small amounts. At the end of last year, the chairman had YES 161 million crowns in his account, and 82 million crowns in “other receivables”.

Land purchases

Last year, the honorary chairman of TOP 09, Karel Schwarzenberg, invested in the land. He bought forest land, water areas and arable land. Its revenues, mainly from the activities of the Orlík nad Vltavou company, reached 41 million crowns. Land was also bought by Senator TOP 09 Tomáš Czernin, who spent over five million on it. It reported revenue of 6.5 million.

Cars

Last year, the Minister of the Interior and Chairman of the CSSD, Jan Hamáček, invested CZK 150,000 in a GAZ-21 veteran car. MP YES and the head of the National Sports Agency bought two cars, one for 1.6 million and the other for 900 thousand crowns. The car was also bought by the head of Tricolor Václav Klaus Jr. or the chairman of the ANO parliamentary club Jaroslav Faltýnek.

Apartments

Last year, for example, the chairwoman of TOP 09, Markéta Pekarová Adamová, bought a new apartment with a mortgage of 2.3 million, and gave a total of 6.3 million crowns for it. Only 700 thousand less was the apartment of pirate MP Mikuláš Ferjenčík, who, in addition to a mortgage of 4.5 million, also borrowed from siblings. SPD MP Monika Jarošová also bought an apartment for 2.5 million, her loan amounted to 2.1 million.

Other interesting things

SPD chairman Tomio Okamura sent more than 2.6 million crowns to himself. The movement’s spokeswoman Barbora Zeťová stated for the Aktuálně.cz portal that it was money from the sale of an art collection. And, for example, YES MP Patrik Nacher bought Kofola’s shares again.
