Microsoft Testing New ‘Speak for Me’ Voice Feature in Windows 11 Accessibility Settings

Microsoft is testing a new feature in Windows 11 that allows the system to mimic the user’s voice and speak on their behalf when needed.

According to what was observed in the latest beta version of Windows 11, Microsoft added a feature called “Speak for me” within the system’s accessibility settings, in order to allow users to teach the operating system how to speak with their personal voices.

According to the description attached to the feature in Settings, Windows 11 will make it possible to create an avatar voice or use the user’s own voice in online meetings or personal conversations.

This feature works with a text-to-speech mechanism, which means that the user will be able to write any text for the system to pronounce in a way that mimics his real voice, and not using a random automated voice.

This feature will be able to be accessed quickly using keyboard shortcuts by pressing the Windows button with the Ctrl and T buttons.

Microsoft did not officially reveal this new feature, nor does it currently work in beta versions of Windows 11, and the company is expected to reveal more details about it later.

It is worth noting that Apple recently introduced a similar feature in its devices known as “Personal voice“Personal Voice,” which allows the ability to “create a composite voice” to sound like the user’s real voice to communicate with others via FaceTime, phone calls, various communication applications, and personal conversations using a text-to-speech mechanism.
