Today, on the second Tuesday of the month, all supported builds of Windows 10 traditionally received updates. Currently, all versions of Windows 10 are supported, with the exception of 1511. The latest versions of the operating system, numbered 1903 and 1909, received the same update KB4549951, with build numbers 18362.778 and 18363.778, respectively.
The update improves security when using Microsoft Office products, the overall security of the operating system when performing basic operations, and also improves file storage and management capabilities. In addition, the update solves a problem that prevents the installation of certain applications if they are published using the GPO, and also fixes security issues found in previous versions.
Windows 10 1809 users received update KB4549949 with build number 17763.1158. It brings the same changes, but it found a problem due to which the devices on which some Asian languages are installed may throw an error “0x800f0982 – PSFX_E_MATCHING_COMPONENT_NOT_FOUND“. The problem is fixed by manually reinstalling the language packs.
Windows 10 1803 will receive the KB4550922 update only for Enterprise and Education versions. Build number is 17134.1425. It fixes security issues detected in previous versions, but has one unresolved issue. Devices in the domain may not install applications published using a Group Policy Object (GPO). This problem only applies to installing applications from MSI files and does not affect any other ways of installing programs.
Windows 10 1709 will also receive an update only for versions of Enterprise and Education. Update KB4550927 has build number 16299.1806. The list of changes is the same as for assembly 1803.
Windows 10 1703 will receive an update only if it runs on the Surface Hub. Updating KB4550939 with build number 15063.2346 also improves the security of the device and resolves a memory leak in the Lsalso.exe process when the server is under heavy load when Credential Guard is enabled. The update solves the problem of starting klist.exe, due to which lsass.exe stops working and generates an access violation error (0xC0000005), and also fixes a problem with merging Windows Defender application control policies, which sometimes leads to an error of the duplicate rule identifier and leads to The Merge-CIPolicy PowerShell command failed.
Windows 10 1607 is only supported for LTSC and Windows Server 2016 clients. Update KB4550929 improves OS security and carries build number 14393.3630. Finally, Windows 10 1507 was updated, but only for LTSC clients. Update KB4550930 has build number 10240.18545 and also resolves security issues.
These updates are mandatory and will be installed automatically.
