Under such circumstances, Gen4 SSD is still the first choice for most players when setting up a computer. As a major memory particle manufacturer: Micron, it has previously launched the P5 PLUS using Phison E18 controller, which has stable read and write performance and a good price. It has been widely praised by everyone; last year, Micron launched the Crucial T700 Gen5 SSD for the e-sports series, and also redefined the naming method of the brand model; in the first quarter of this year, it also launched the T700’s younger brother, and it will be launched this time. box of T500 Pro Gen4 SSD.

=====Unboxing=====

The box design of the T500 PRO is the same as that of the T700. There is a big T500 PRO model printed in the middle, and there is a picture of the SSD on the left. This time I unboxed the version with a pre-installed heat sink; if it does not have a pre-installed heat sink, Only pictures of single SSD will be printed.

In terms of read and write performance, this time the T500 has chosen a new solution for the main control, so the speed performance is also faster than the P5 PLUS, reaching the current top speed of Gen4.

The back of the box also has special instructions in multiple languages, including:

The T500 PRO unboxed this time is the version with a pre-installed heat sink. The front of the heat sink is frosted like the T700. The Micron Crucial LOGO is printed on the left side, and the T500 PCle Gen4 NVMe M.2 SSD model is printed on the right side. ;
In the read and write part, the Micron Crucial T500 PRO Gen4 SSD 1TB version is officially calibrated with a continuous read of 7300 MB/s and a continuous write of 6800 MB/s. The TBW endurance is the same as the T700 at 600 TB.

The test environment this time was also open, and the room temperature happened to be 31 degrees on a hot weekend. In standby, the temperature of the T500 PRO hovered around 30 degrees.

The first is the CrystalDiskMark test. The Micron Crucial T500 PRO sequential read and sequential write scores are 7099.92 MB/s and 6668.36 MB/s respectively. The 4K small block random write depth 1 read and write scores are 92.92 MB/s respectively. s and 356.99 MB/s.

The sequential read and sequential write IOPS are 6771.01 IOPS and 6359.24 IOPS respectively.

Because when I tested in the default mode, I found that my reading performance could not reach the official 7300 MB/s, so I also switched to the best performance mode to test. The reading and writing performance were 7097.65 MB/s and 6680.62 MB respectively. /s, neither is close to the official value. It is speculated that it is a physical problem, but it is basically not far from the official data.

The real-world performance read and write speeds are 5551.02 MB/s and 5271.63 MB/s. In all CrystalDiskMark tests, the highest temperature of the SSD is 50 degrees, which is much normal compared to Gen5.

In the TxBENCH reading and writing test, 7054.41 MB/s and 6633.556 MB/s were obtained respectively, both of which were slightly lower than the official figures.

Next is ATTO Disk BenchMark, the highest writing speed is 6.25 GB/s, and the highest reading speed is 6.59 GB/s; in the same ATTO Disk BenchMark test, the highest IO writing speed is 193.72K IO/s, and the highest reading speed is 193.72K IO/s. The speed is 178.57K IO/s.

Next is AS SSD BenchMark. The total score of T500 PRO is 11039 points. In the reading and writing test, it is 5583.15 MB/s and 4704.93 MB/s respectively. The 4K 64-Thrd is 2996.22 MB/s and 4795.24 MB/s respectively; In the random access IO part, sequential reads and writes are 348.95 iops and 294.06 iops respectively.

Finally, there is the copy and compression performance test of AS SSD BenchMark. In the copy, ISO, program, and game measured 4886.31 MB/s, 2220.3 MB/s, and 3242.2 MB/s respectively, while the compression performance test averaged about 5600 MB/s. s and about 5300 MB/s.
