The pair of shoe maker Nike’s Air Jordan 1 series shoes, which the famous Michael Jordan once stood for in a test match in Italy, were sold at Christie’s auction house on Thursday for 615,000 US dollars (about 520,000 euros). The famous Jordan used this particular pair of shoes in the 1985 test game in Italy, where in one of the episodes after the ball hit the basket from above, the basket shield dissolved in small pieces. “These are original Jordan shoes with a real piece of glass in the sole,” said auctioneer Katlin Donovan. Jordan scored 30 points with these shoes that day. In May, another auctioned pair of Jordan shoes set a new sales record, which the current owner earned for 560,000 US dollars (approximately 474,000 euros). Meanwhile, the last pair of shoes, which got a new owner on Thursday, was put up for auction with a starting price of 650,000 US dollars (550,000 euros). Jordan’s game accessories are expected to gain so much value from the recently released multi-series film “Last Dance”, in which the main character is Jordan himself. The multi-series film captures the brightest moments of Jordan and also the Chicago Bulls in the NBA, including winning six championship titles.
